What Your Car Safety Kit Should Include

A car safety kit is essential for on-the-road emergencies and can be a lifeline when help is out of reach. The important part about a car safety kit is having the right tools and equipment inside it and knowing how to use them properly. This month’s blog will cover your car safety kit and what you should include.

At Placentia Super Service, we want you to be safe on the road, and we especially want you to be prepared in case of any emergency. A car safety kit is a perfect accessory for your daily cargo. You can have tools in equipment for any case, including personal injuries or roadside assistance for your vehicle. In this blog, we will be highlighting some of the essentials you should include in your safety kit.

Car Charger For Your Cell Phone - You want to have your phone charged at all times if you need to call for help or use it as a source of light.

Jumper Cables - If you find yourself with a dead battery, have some jumper cables in your kit to recharge your battery.

Reflective Triangles - These will make your vehicle more visible to oncoming traffic.

Reflective Vest - Like the reflective triangles, this will make you more visible to oncoming traffic.

Fire Extinguisher - In case of a fire, carry a fire extinguisher to combat the fire.

Food & Water - Carry extra water and food such as nonperishable, high-energy foods, such as unsalted nuts, dried fruits, and hard candy. In some cases, you can need to stay on the road longer than you expected and won’t have access to food or water.

First Aid Kit - Including gauze, tape, bandages, antibiotic ointment, aspirin, a blanket, non-latex gloves, scissors, hydrocortisone, thermometer, tweezers, and instant cold compress.

Tool Kit - In case you need to make minor repairs, a tool kit can be helpful.

Extra Tools & Equipment - A spare tire, compass, duct tape, rain poncho, and extra clothing.

Having these tools and equipment can be the difference between a small pit stop and needing to spend big money on a tow truck or more extensive repair.

At Placentia Super Service, we want you to be prepared for any surprise life may bring. We can best help by inspecting your vehicle if you are due for any repairs. This way, you will not have to deal with emergencies on the road. If you are interested in bringing your car into the shop, click here to schedule an appointment or find us at 643 S Melrose St, Placenta, CA 92870!
